The Future of Media Reform: CHMK Forum Releases Official Roadmap & Proceedings

CHMK, Kurdistan Region: The Secretariat of the CHMK National Forum for Media Reform has officially published the research, roadmap, and key recommendations from its 3rd Forum, successfully hosted by SOAS University of London on July 8–9, 2026.

This milestone publication delivers a practical, evidence-based strategy for fundamental structural reform across the Kurdistan Region’s media ecosystem. Reflecting on the importance of translating these insights into real-world progress, Dr Shwan Adam Aivas, General Coordinator of the Forum, shared:

“Driven by a deep sense of scientific and professional responsibility, we at the CHMK National Forum have dedicated our efforts since 2021 toward genuine media reform in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI). Rectifying today’s media landscape is a shared duty that rests on both content creators and consumers alike. I sincerely hope all stakeholders step forward with a unifying national spirit, free from political sensitivities, so everyone can take true ownership of this transformative initiative.”

This comprehensive scientific document is now being shared with key administrative, legal, academic, and media leadership to drive practical implementation across all sectors. Access the complete roadmap and recommendations PDF directly on the Official CHMK Forum Website via the below link:
