A New Partnership for Media Education: CHMK and RAPS Sign MoU

CHMK, Sulaimani: Two organisations committed to building a more media-literate generation have taken a meaningful step forward.

On Tuesday (May 26, 2026), in Sulaimani, Assoc. Prof. Dr Shwan Adam Aivas, Chair of Kurdish Media Watchdog (CHMK), and M. Jihad Mohammed Hama Karim, President of Serdam Educational Organisation (RAPS), signed a Memorandum of Understanding, establishing a shared framework for professional and academic cooperation aimed at fostering critical thinking skills among young people.

At the heart of the agreement is a relationship of equality and mutual support. Kurdish Media Watchdog brings its academic expertise and human resources to serve as a scientific and media consultancy, leading the design and development of media education and digital literacy programmes. Sardam Education Organisation, for its part, will work alongside educational institutions across the Kurdistan Region to facilitate the delivery of these programmes and ensure their content stays relevant and contemporary. Together, the two institutions form a complementary partnership, one that bridges knowledge creation with practical educational delivery and puts the next generation at the centre.
