Global Media Journal Announces Special Issue for the 3rd CHMK London Forum

LONDON, June 11, 2026 | We are absolutely thrilled to announce a major international milestone for media studies and academic diplomacy. The peer-reviewed Journal of Digital Media & Policy (JDMP), published by Intellect Books, is officially dedicating a groundbreaking special issue (Volume 19, 2028) to the scientific outputs of the 3rd CHMK National Forum for Media Reform.

This exciting partnership elevates the forum’s real-world policy work directly into the global scientific spotlight. Titled “Media Reform in Post-Conflict Regions: Structural Transformations, AI Interventions, and Digital Resilience”, this issue ensures that peer-reviewed insights from the Kurdistan Region and across the world are preserved in world-class academic literature. Following the forum’s landmark endorsement as the First International Scientific Conference on Media Reform by the KRI Ministry of Higher Education, this collaboration marks a historic leap forward for our global research community.

Building the Future: The Three Integrity Walls
The global Call for Papers (CfP) is built around the innovative Three Integrity Walls framework pioneered by our Forum General Coordinator, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shwan Adam Aivas. We are inviting passionate scholars, researchers, and policy analysts worldwide to submit original manuscripts focusing on three vital pillars:

  • The First Wall (Statutory Reform): Evolving legacy laws into unified, modern legislative models and independent national media councils.
  • The Second Wall (Technical & Infrastructure Resilience): Standing strong against deepfakes and algorithmic manipulation and securing data privacy in the age of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
  • The Third Wall (Professional & Ethical Code Execution): Breaking down political-business patronage by embedding bulletproof journalistic ethics and editorial independence.

Strategic Insights from Leadership
In discussing the launch of this collaborative project, Prof. Petros Iosifidis, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Digital Media & Policy and Professor at City St George, University of London, expressed great enthusiasm for dedicating this special issue to the critical dialogues emerging from the 3rd CHMK National Forum at SOAS, University of London. He noted that navigating digital policy and structural reform within transitional environments remains absolutely essential for the survival of independent journalism worldwide, adding that this upcoming issue will offer an invaluable, fresh perspective to the international media landscape. Furthermore, Assoc. Prof. Dr Shwan Adam Aivas, General Director of the CHMK Nations Forums, emphasised that this Special Issue acts as a permanent, brilliant scientific bridge. He highlighted how this partnership ensures that our upcoming 10-Year Strategic Policy Roadmap (2026–2036) is backed by world-class academic rigour, ultimately helping to protect truth and individual privacy across both physical and digital borders.
